SHOUTING ABOUT CREATIVITY’S WAYS

I love getting up there and speaking about creativity. I’ve done it in front of 3,000, I’ve failed to make 6 undergraduates laugh on a Monday morning with stories I still believe are funny. (It can’t always be glamorous).

I’d love to come and share my knowledge of creativity with your audience, for your organisation or education institution. Please drop me a note via the form below and we can discuss an online, or in-person talk.

I might embarrass myself with the humour, but I can guarantee attendees’ creativity will be amplified!

Here’s that form I mentioned. It won’t hurt you, I promise…

I’m excited to hear from you. Let me know who you are and what kind of talk you have in mind. I’m full of ideas and I’m happy to tailor something to help you in the best way possible.

Workshops and live performances (art, not dance) are possible too.

When I get your note, we can edge towards getting these lips moving.

LIVE INTERVIEWS

There’s something immediate and vulnerable about the live interview. Since starting ‘The Creative Condition podcast’ back in 2015, I’ve taken to various stages to conduct open and honest conversations around creativity. In April 2024 I spent one hour chatting with design legend Stefan Sagmeister at OFFF Festival 2024 at the magnificent Disseny Hub in Barcelona. This took place in front of 3,000 people. I had faith the intimacy of a private conversation could work at that scale and it did, just as much as live conversations in front of 30 people. I love the range of personalities I’ve had such chats with over the last decade, from nervous scientists to full-throttle rock stars, so if you’d like to book me to carry out a live interview, let me know via the form above. I’d be delighted to get the ball rolling.

SIR KEN’S ROLE

I’m one of over 77 million people who have watched Sir Ken Robinson’s TED talk, ‘Do Schools Kill Creativity?’. It’s the most viewed TED talk of all time. We each hear the same talk, but as covered so inspiringly in his book The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything, we each receive it differently. Sadly, Ken passed away before I had the chance to strong-arm a chat with a personal idol, but he lives on so vibrantly through his grand legacy and his fight for elevating creativity’s role in our society and education systems.

I laugh with him, feel moved all over again, and resolve to contribute my work to his cause because I believe it is the cause of all of us. Without creativity, we don’t progress and we’d have disappeared from this planet long ago.

I also believe the humble presentation to be a unique and intimate method of delivering great ideas, of driving us forward with heart, passion, innovation, and imagination.

It took a while to overcome the intimidation of isolating myself on a stage and having to look audiences in the eye, but I find it to be a thrilling ride and look forward to sharing one with you soon.
